A 15 year old Donica Streling living in the United States diagnosed with terminal illness has fallen in love with K-Pop and Korean drama two years ago. Donica’s favorite idol groups are SHINee’s Taemin and Super Junior’s Siwon, she also shared that she is the happiest when listening to K-Pop.
A miracle happened to the girl whose dream was to visit Korea to meet K-Pop star. A Canadian businessman hearing her situation gladly decided to support Donica’s family visit to Korea.
This touching story of Donica’s dream to be fulfilled was featured on JTBC on May 25. Donica’s grandmother sobbingly shared during an interview with JTBC, “I believe God is helping us. It was a trip that is unimaginable… We are so thankful for their (Canadian businessmen) support.”
Donica has been ill since 5 years old. Although she wasn’t able to walk from 10 years old and is now beginning to lose her hearing she has not lost hope. In spite of her illness Donica is an honor student at her high school and is popular among her friends.
Donica shared her dream, “I wish to become a child psychologist. I wish to comfort the children that are in pain.” And she showed off her Korean that she studied to show off to her favorite K-Pop star.
